BIOGRAPHY

Artist Statement

As a US-based artist driven by a personal mission to help people through transformative art, I create large-scale paintings that navigate the liminal space between color field abstraction and emergent figuration. Born and raised in Southampton, New York, I was profoundly shaped by the artistic legacy of de Kooning and Pollock, which instilled values that would later inform my commitment to creating healing experiences for others.

After spending nearly twenty years living abroad between the Middle East and the South of France, I returned to establish my practice in New York City for the past seventeen years. These international experiences expanded my understanding of color, light, and spiritual contemplation—elements that now permeate my work.

My practice begins with poured pigments on canvas, creating luminous color fields where emergent configurations hint at presence within abstraction. Drawing inspiration from Rothko's transcendent color fields and Frankenthaler's pouring techniques, I engage in responsive dialogue with each canvas, using chalk, charcoal, or additional paint to animate what the initial color field reveals.

I believe art transcends cultural boundaries, speaking to all people across the world. My goal is to create immersive experiences that guide viewers on personal journeys of discovery—offering essential medicine for our collective wellbeing. Through my work, I aim to create healing sanctuaries that fulfill the mission that has driven my practice since those early days of inspiration in Southampton: to transform lives through the profound power of art.
